Community & Cultural Arts

The Community Center for the Arts is an important asset to all of our Kids Unlimited programs. It is the foundation to ensure that all children and families have access to the arts.

“For me as a young person growing up in Medford, I never really had exposure to the arts. While I loved to draw, I never really had access to art supplies or classes and through Kids Unlimited I had a place to support my passion and from that support art has taken me across the world and become my profession. I love being able to come back to KU to see my artwork in the building and know young artists just like me are being supported to imagine and create.”

“When we teach a child to sing or play the flute, we teach her how to listen. When we teach her to draw, we teach her to see. When we teach a child to dance, we teach him about his body and about space, and when he acts on stage, he learns about character and motivation. When we teach a child design, we reveal the geometry of the world. When we teach children about the folk and traditional arts and the great masterpieces of the world, we teach them to celebrate their roots and find their own place in history.”
